Here’s a synopsis from the book jacket: Michelle Hevrdejs has been involved in fine art for the past twenty years, and has developed over the last decade a particular interest in Abstract Expressionist works by marginalized artists. Her collection includes works by Abstract Expressions mainstays like Elaine de Kooning, Mary Abbott, and Perle Fine, as well as new works by contemporary artists such as Deborah Dancy, Pooja Pittie, and Jayne Quick-to-see Smith. This book explores the intersections of gender, race, and nationality in the Abstract Expressionist movement through Michelle Hevrdejs’ stunning collection of over seventy paintings.
